Mobile Phones - Where Are We Going?

Thursday, January 31st, 2008

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Amit_Patel]Amit Patel If there is one thing that keeps on changing in the most frequent of fashions - a mobile phone model opt to take the position. Manufacturers come out with new models every now and then and before anyone notices there is already an updated version of a particular model. Mobile phones today are one of the hardest thing to keep up the pace with along the way of its advancement both in terms of technology and design. The top players of the game nokia, sony ericsson, samsung or LG are all in the game of technology race and often try to gain advantage by coming up with the most innovative and spectacular new designs that sometimes even defy fantasy. With bluetooth; Mp3; FM Radio; High quality digital image taking abilities, Word Processing- all fabricated within the increasingly tiny phones - its a wonder where the cell phone industry is going to land in the future. The present developments are emphasizing on projects which will enable people to watch TV on their mobile devices by the end of 2010. The introduction of 3G networks to pursue a better performing digital downloads or streaming media is already well represented in the latest mobile phones in the market today. As a race towards eradicating the use of conventional keypads by replacing them with touch screens and thus diminishing the size of the cell phone to a further extend many companies are already facing remarkable success . Many companies are even trying to implement the biometric identity solutions within these portable communication devices in order to enhance security. Many advanced version of the mobile phones are however called pocket PCs. These technological wonders features almost all the basic functionality of a modern day computer merged along with telecommunication features making it the perfect ground to be called the cell phones of tomorrow. Internal Combustion Model Airplane Engines

Thursday, January 31st, 2008

By Manolito Montala Although today, the technological advancement of airplane powerplant specially on the electric motors which now uses Lithium Polymer batteries, we should also learn the internal combustion type since the development of those miniature airplanes and helicopters owe so much. There are two main types of model airplane engine - glow engines and diesels. Although the ignition type is popular on big birds (1/4 scale), we will concentrate on the ’standard’ model engines. Glow engine are by far the more numerous and popular, faster revving and generally more powerful size for size. They are suitable for powering all types of model aircraft and are produced in three general categories - standard engines for general use; racing engines for competition models; and RC engines for radio controlled aircraft. Standard engines may also be used for radio controlled models fitted with a throttle control or RC carburetor. This applies particularly to smaller engine sizes. Larger RC engines are generally specially designed to produce maximum power at more moderate revs than either standard or racing engines. Glow engines have three particular disadvantages, although these are outweighed by the simplicity of operation and general flexibility of the type. First they need a special type of ignition plug, known as a glow plug, which can burn out and need replacement. They also need a battery connected to the plug for starting (and if the battery is ‘flat’ the engine will not start!), and special alcohol-base fuels which are a little more costly than diesel fuels and also attack paints and cellulose dope finishes. For this reason, model aircraft powered by glow engines must be finished in fuel proof dopes, or given a final coat of special fuel proof paint. Diesels are self-contained engines that they need only a supply of suitable fuel to run. They are generally heavier and more robust than glow engines, so they are usually longer lasting. They vibrate more and are less responsive to throttle control than glow engines, so are not generally recommended for powering radio controlled models. They cannot rev as fast as a racing glow engine, so are less competitive in this respect. On the other hand they can be excellent power units for small and modest: size free fight ’sports’ models and certain types of control-line models. Diesels are produced in a much more restored range of sizes than glow engines. Very small diesels (smaller than 0.5cc) are difficult (and costly) to produce and can prove tricky to start and adjust. At the other end of the scale, diesels larger than about 3.5cc generally prove disappointing in performance. Thus diesel production is virtually limited to a size range from 0.5 to 3.5cc with the 1cc and 1.5cc sizes being by far the most popular. Engine sizes - and how they are specified. Engine sizes are specified by displacement or the interior volume swept by the piston in making its stroke up and down the cylinder (swept volume) In the case of diesels, displacement is always quoted in cubic centimeters or cc (mainly because the model diesel originated in Continental Europe). In the case of glow engines, displacement is (nearly) always quoted in cubic inches or cubic inches (because this type originated in the United States) Manufacturer produce glow engine in a more or less standard range of sizes, originally representing logical steps in power output. These are 0.049 cubic inch (also known as 1/2A); 0.09 cubic inch (also known as Class A); 0.19 cubic inch, 0.29cubic inch, 0.35cubic inch, 0.49 cubic inch and 0.60 cubic inch Quite often the cubic inch is dropped and just the figures quoted 049, 09, 19, etc. Some manufacturers produce additional sizes, e.g. smaller than- 0.049 cubic inch for powering tiny models, and intermediate sizes to cater for a particular size or type of model, such as 0.40 cubic inch for RC models. The need for intermediate sizes is rather more commercial than realistic however. Classification of porting nearly all present day model airplane engine are of similar layout, the main differences being in the method of inducting the fuel/air mixture into the crankcase and then transferring it to the top of the cylinder. Induction is controlled by a rotary valve, either a hole opening into a hollow section of the crankshaft, or a disc with a hole, driven by the crankshaft. In either case, sheathe hole in the crankshaft (or disc) comes opposite the end of the carburetor tube the intake port is opened and then closed by subsequent rotation of the crankshaft. The circumferential length of this hole determines the intake timing. When induction takes place in front of the cylinder (through the crankshaft), the layout is known as front rotary (readily distinguished by the carburetor, or strictly speaking, the intake tube) coming in front of the cylinder. With rear rotary engines the intake tube attaches directly to the back of the crankcase. Transfer of fuel and air mixture drawn into the crankcase to the top of the cylinder is controlled by piston movement opening the top of a transfer port (or ports) formed in the side of the cylinder. This porting may be conventional, or specially arranged to give a ‘boost’ to the charge to fill the cylinder head in the most effective manner. The latter is a relatively new development with model airplane engine and is known as schnuerle porting. It is now a feature of many high performance glow engines. Manolito Montala was a RC model airplane enthusiast and he also have a degree in Aeronautical Engineering. He is also a CAD Engineer and a webmaster. Wholesale Wigs

Monday, January 28th, 2008

By Steve Valentino The benefit of buying wholesale wigs is apparent. Wholesale refers to large consignments or bulk orders. The law of supply and demand explains such deals. Increased trade stabilizes pricing factors, which proves to be favorable for buyers and sellers. Bulk purchases reduce overhead expenses because these consignments can be shipped and packaged together. This cuts down on expenses, such as individual packaging and transportation to multiple locales that are associated with retail purchases. Wholesale wigs are considered, reasonably priced as compared to single wigs. Individuals may not have a great requirement of wholesale wigs, as a single quality wig can be used for an extended period of time. Theatrical groups, film and television companies and performance groups require wholesale wigs. Such institutions may choose to purchase wholesale wigs or hire them from particular costume rentals. In the long run, outright purchase of wholesale wigs may be profitable for such groups rather than spending on recurring rentals. Market trends suggest that wholesale wigs that are purchased online, prove to be cheaper than local store deals. This is because such stores incur minimal overhead expenses and are reputed to pass on these benefits to customers. Wholesale wigs can be purchased from local stores as well as online. When selecting, potential customers may choose from available designs or opt to place special orders. It is important to find a reputed manufacturer, as the need for wholesale wigs may be sudden. In such instances, it is advisable to verify the manufacturers reputation, product quality and price ranges. This is because if a wholesale consignment does not reach on time, the purpose is defeated and reduced rates hold no value. It may not be possible to check each and every wig in a consignment once they are received. It is possible that some products are not up to the standard and may have faulty elastic bands and be of incorrect length. For this reason, it is important to understand return policies and guarantees before finalizing a deal. Arizona Adoption Lawyers

Sunday, January 27th, 2008

By Jason Gluckman Adoption laws fall under the jurisdiction of individual state governments. Procedures and legal formalities of processes vary form one state to another. Adoption lawyers establish a legal parent-child relationship between such parents and adopted children. Arizona adoption lawyers assist people in various verification processes and paper work. Several issues are involved concerning welfare board that may require documented evidence of parents being able to look after the welfare of adopted child and reasons for opting for adoption. Arizona adoption lawyers are specialized professionals and ensure a smooth process of adoption. As a part of adoption process they also help young pregnant women in selecting a family who wants to adopt a child as the mother may not be in a position to care for her child. Such adoption procedures require a different approach. The pregnant mother may opt to choose a family suitable for adoption. Then lawyers help in arranging a meeting or telephone conferences with the couple or sever all contacts with them according to their client’s decision. Parents who wish to adopt in this way may offer to care for birth plans too. Adoption lawyers step in to draw an agreement suiting individual needs, choosing between an open or closed adoption processes and help in securing medical, legal and living expenses. They also provide counseling and may agree to travel with the mother according to the situation and needs. All inquires and discussions are considered confidential and free consultation is provided in case a client is unsure which process to follow for adoption. A number of adoption lawyers can be found online, classified according to different cities within the state of Arizona. These lawyers are attached to various adoption agencies and services, providing advice and support to clients who may like to adopt. Adoption lawyers may be contacted through telephone, email, or at their office address found on websites or can be visited personally. Fees may vary according to qualification and reputation of adoption lawyers. Girl Talk - Boy Talk

Saturday, January 26th, 2008

By Sharon Jacobsen Chas and Dave wrote a song about it and how right they were. Women just love to rabbit! Whether you calling it chatting, nattering, gassing or just plain talking, we’re way ahead of the opposition in the vocal stakes. Not that I’m saying it’s a reason for our men to dump us, as suggested by Chas and Dave, but I’ve no doubt there are times when they wish we’d put a sock in it. More often than not, talking to another woman is far less work than trying to get a decent conversation going with a bloke. How many times haven’t you tried initiating conversation by mentioning something you’re sure he’d find agreeable only to receive the standard “mmmm” reply. If you know he loves BMWs and there’s a fine example of one parked along the road, try saying “that’s a nice car, isn’t it?” and see what happens. Yepp, the standard reply. If you really want to get him talking, try “I can’t see what anybody sees in those cars” and before you know it, he’ll be chatting on about how reliable the engine of a BMW is (assuming it is, of course), how comfortable the interior is, not to mention how well planned the layout is and the luggage room’s just awesome! And did you know it can do 0-60 at the speed of a fart? The point is, men need to be dragged into action through a good disagreement. Small talk, just for the sake of it, isn’t their forte. It’s hardly surprising, given our differences, that men become frustrated at their women who constantly want to talk about things that offer no argument. They don’t see the point in discussing the scent of the roses unless you happen to think it smells like sherbet whilst he thinks it smells of honey! And if you’ve already decided to get a Greyhound, why continue to talk about them? The subject would really only merit further discussion if you’ve started doubting the decision but to him, simply reiterating that Greyhounds make wonderful pets is hardly worthy of word expenditure. Women, on the other hand, are happy to spend hours discussing various aspects of life, be it which washing powder does the job best (although I have to admit that this particular subject has a short life around here) to whether or not there’s life in outer space. We’ll analyse our lives from every perceivable angle and serve our emotions on a plate to be shared and devoured. When we talk about sex it’s because we’re either experiencing difficulties in that department or finally achieved multiple orgasm. The fact that the bloke standing next to the BMW (the one you earlier admired with your partner) has a huge lunch box isn’t THAT important to us. Sure, we’ll joke about it but where men stop at “I’d give her one”, women will discuss ‘why’ they’d give him one. How often have you known your partner (or father or brother) to pick up the phone for no other reason than because they fancy a chat? They may well have done during your courting days but do they ever call their male friends just to have a natter? I doubt it. Women, on the other hand, can spend hours on the phone to the same girlfriend, talking about anything and everything, going into minute detail about every event that’s happened since last time they spoke and still finding it all just as interesting as they would’ve had it been the very first conversation they’d ever had. When witnessing this behaviour, men simply shake their heads and wonder how the heck we can find so much to talk about to somebody we visited with for three hours just last week. To a man, the telephone is either a means of making contact when something needs to be said or done or, for some, a means of getting a quick thrill through dialling premium rate numbers. It certainly isn’t a tool designed for nurturing friendships. I’m not saying that men will never talk; of course they talk. Men are great at discussing business deals and are generally happier speaking publicly than women are but they need a definite goal to make talking worthwhile. To them, when talking about next door’s new car, the technical specs are what interest them, whereas we’d probably wonder about it’s cost and how on earth they managed to afford it! Gossipy, yes, but that also comes naturally to women. Evidently, our propensity for gossip stems from way back when we lived in caves. The men went out to hunt leaving the women to look after the cave and offspring. For those women, it was important to know what was going on around them in order to keep their own home and family safe, something which eventually evolved into gossip once we mastered the art of meaningful speech. Knowing that Missus Chucklebum could be likely to steal your food supplies or that old man Poop-pants had been known to rape women while their men were away were important things to know. Gossip was what moved this information quickly through the villages, rather like the jungle drum. Unfortunately, gossip often changes facts so poor old Annie Spottyface was seduced by Tommy Littleballs could easily turn into something that makes Annie sound as if she’s slept with half the village. Men, as much as they deny it, also gossip. They don’t see it as such because their gossip takes on a different stance. Knowing that Dave has put a new turbo in his motor or that Bob’s been promoted is just as much gossip as anything we women talk about. Men gossip because, going back to the days of old again, they needed to know which tribes or villages were strong and with which weapons they were likely to fight with. That sort of thing translates in our modern society to who’s got the most money (money = power) and what they’ve earned it by doing. Facts were, and still are, important to them from a strategic point of view. My partner would call it “intelligence gathering” but no matter what impressive name you put to it and how pretty the packaging is, it’s still gossip, plain and simple. They just don’t do it quite as much as us ladies. Conversation’s a bonding agent between women, something that men don’t need. They bond through activities; either doing them or discussing them. If they’re not out on some muddy field kicking a ball around then it’ll be “Did you see Beckham’s penalty last night?”. Oh, and “look at the knockers on that” will sometimes come into play because sex is an activity just as much as football, biking, fixing cars, fishing or downing pints. Most of us have heard that women use about three times as many words a day than men but even so, mixed gender company, men are likely to dominate the conversation. Why? Because they need to exert their power and strength, of course. That isn’t to say there aren’t women who wouldn’t dream of allowing a man to dominate in this way and there are also men who wouldn’t dream of trying but in general, men like to have their voices heard. I’m afraid we girls have to take some of the blame for that, too, because of our tendency to tack a question on the end of a statement. Saying “that was a lovely meal, wasn’t it?” allows others to jump straight in and, in the case of a man, answering the question then allows him to go on to change the subject in order to satisfy his need to dominate the conversation. Believe me, the only way we can control a conversation is to stop leaving open-ends, because while we might see them as showing a concern for the opinions of others, men will see them as weak statements from a woman who doesn’t know her own mind. Another way in which the sexes differ can be clearly seen when a woman wants to discuss something that’s bothering her. I’d be reasonably well off now if I’d been given a pound for every time I heard a woman complain “he always has to be so argumentative”. He isn’t doing it to hurt, though; it’s just his nature. Discussion’s good, small talk’s a waste of time. We just have to accept that they’re not women (and I can assure you there are times when I’m glad my partner isn’t) and let them do what comes naturally. That, incidently, also includes offering advice. Again, for him, if the conversation’s to achieve anything, a solution’s needed. You might not want advice but he’s gonna give it, regardless. One friend complained that her husband wouldn’t listen to her problems because she never took his advice anyway and if she isn’t going to listen to him, why should he bother to listen to her? I can see that a man could get frustrated by women who “don’t listen” but when we desperately want to share our feelings with somebody else without being “told what to do”, that’s when we really need our women friends. For life to continue, women need men, but when it comes to talking, women need women. It’s good to be understood. Children in Weddings

Friday, January 25th, 2008

By Vivian Gilbert Zabel A curly-haired little princess in a filly dress brings ooos and ahhhs from the rows of friends and family members as she trips down the aisle before the bride. The ring-bearer solemnly marching beside her causes the same reaction. The youngsters leave everyone in awe, sometimes taking attention away from the couple marrying especially if one or both start crying, throwing a temper tantrum, or becoming bored during the ceremony. However, with some pre-planning, children can become a positive and delightful part of a wedding. First of all, a child needs to understand what will happen during the ceremony. I remember the first time my daughter did the flower girl job. The rehearsal consisted of the wedding party standing at the front of the sanctuary while the minister explained what each person would do in what order. The only problem was a four-year-old didnt understand. She didnt know that when she went down the aisle that the people she expected to see would be standing with their backs to her: she couldnt see her daddy or the aunt she was to stand beside. She turned and ran to me crying. I held her and pointed out where the expected people stood. Then I showed her the bride waiting to come behind her. She finished her trip down the aisle throwing rose petals and sniffling. A wedding rehearsal should allow any children to practice their duties several times. They should know where to go during the ceremony, too, if they should get bored or tired. An adult, that the child knows, should sit close enough to the front that the child can go to her or him if needed. Before the wedding ceremony itself, any children should have a rest time, if not a nap. Then before guests start arriving, someone should walk the children through their paces: allow flower girls and ring bearers walk down the aisle and stand or sit where they are supposed to after reaching the front or doing their duty. Refreshing their memories will help them do a better, calmer job. At the reception, having a room with an attendant (an adult or a responsible teen) for young children makes both the adults and the children enjoy the celebration more. Children could take part until they start showing signs of boredom or irritability, then the attendant could take them where they can play or rest. Older or more mature youngsters wouldnt have a problem staying at the reception. Children can add to a wedding if planning and care has been taken, or a wedding can become a frightening experience. Picking and Maintaining The Perfect Shrubs For Your Garden

Thursday, January 24th, 2008

By Peter Finch The woody plants, smaller in size than trees, with low branches close to ground level, have traditionally been known as shrubs. They usually have more than one stem and these stems together are called canes, often touching the ground from all sides, forming a notable foliage. Shrubs are found in a variety of colors and with varied leaf designs. Bush, an often used word, is a synonym of shrub. Shrubs carry not only good leafage but some of them support the same amount of flowers as well. Such shrubs are called flowering shrubs. These shrubs are aromatic enough to attract butterflies and are considered apt for household gardening. Examples of flowering shrubs are: hydrangea, honeysuckle, heptacodium, hibiscus, forsythia, fothergilla, dogwood, crape myrtle, clethra, buddleia, barberry etc. Shrubs generally, are found to be 6 meters tall but they could differ in size. 10 to 20 cm small shrubs are known as sub-shrubs. These miniature shrubs can sometimes have non-seasional growth and can manage to survive in winter too, something that normal shrubs usually cannot do. Lhyme, cranberries, ericaceae, lavender, lerivinkle etc. are grouped under sub-shrubs. Shrubs grow by themselves on some types of land. These lands are dry barrens but not exactly deserts. They are not good enough for the growth of green plants and trees, but intermediate shrubs can easily flourish here. Such regions of shrub-friendly lands are called shrub-lands in the technical language of Botany. Mostly found near deserts and grasslands, they get more rain than the absolute deserts but lesser than green forests. Development of shrub-lands, to some extent, is also dependent on outer forces applied to the lands. For example, productive lands could get destroyed by natural calamities, by floods, fires etc. and can turn into shrub-lands, fertile enough only to promote shrubs. So shrub-lands are the habitats of shrubs. Even so, shrubs do not grown on their own all the time! Shrubs can be cultivated too for mainly for decorative gardening. Such shrubs that are artificially grown by humans rather than by natural means collectively form a shrub-berry. According to novelists, shrub-berries are among the most romantic places. Rationales Behind Giving Shrubs Some Space In Your Garden - Do you feel you are all occupied with your business or profession and are short of time? At the same time, are you too fond of gardening to give it up completely? Well, given such a situation, shrubs are your best bet, as they are quite hassle-free and do not need much nurturing. No excessive attention is required, yet you will own a garden that is as beautiful as a carefully nurtured one. - Some shrubs are as fragrant as flowers and help attract birds and butterflies, converting your garden into a more cheerful and colorful place. - Your garden may look populated with the planted shrubs. As shrubs are bigger than plants and have a good foliage, they act as good padding material for parks and gardens. - Shrubs could be put to good use inside the house to conceal unsightly corners. Let Your Venus Flytrap Frost Over

Wednesday, January 23rd, 2008

By Jacob Farin Every autumn, I receive lots of email from growers telling me how they brought their Venus Flytraps indoors because of a weather forecast predicting frost. It is a myth, plain and simple, that these North American carnivorous plants must be protected from frost. Ironically, frost is what helps them survive the winter! Frost is the signal that plants need to know when it is time to go dormant. As Flytraps prepare for dormancy (and yes, they need to go dormant), they produce anti-freeze chemicals that help them survive freezing temperatures. So, if you prevent your Venus Flytraps from experiencing frost, you prevent them from producing those anti-freeze chemicals. More importantly, you put your plants at risk and make it much harder on yourself. You see, without any anti-freeze chemicals, Flytraps must always be protected from freezing temperatures. But, at the same time, they still need cool temperatures to slow down in growth and go dormant. But, without frost, plants rarely enter deep dormancy. At the most, they enter what is called a winter rest. This is when plants are still growing, but they grow very slowly and their leaves look weak and listless. Flytraps in this state of growth actually require more care than those that go completely dormant. Caring for Venus Flytraps during dormancy is very easy. Once dormant, simply keep the soil moist and protect the plant whenever the temperature goes below 20F, which is true for any plant grown in containers, carnivorous or otherwise. Flytraps are native to North Carolina, so they are not at all unfamiliar with snowy conditions. So, let your Venus Flytraps experience frost. Not only will you be helping them produce those anti-freeze chemicals, you will have an easier time caring for them when they go completely dormant. The End Times & the Lord’s Almighty Purpose

Tuesday, January 22nd, 2008

By Joel Peters I have been walking as a Child of Christ for many, many years. He has given me strength when Ive felt like all is lost. He has always been there for me. No matter what is going on in my life good or bad, the Lord is always there. As I contemplate the future and what might be in store for us as Christians on earth in The End Times, I am overwhelmed be a feeling of love for Gods only Son our Lord. He died for us and as long as we put faith in Him, we shall have eternal life. John 3:16 (King James Version) “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Can it be that easy? See I believe that it is that we as human beings and simple creatures that walk this earth have a real problem with simplicity and devotion without question. I think it takes tremendous courage and strength to look at things with an open mind and heart and to hold fast to our beliefs, but not hold them so hard that it closes our relationships with our brothers and sisters in Christ. I think one of the most challenging areas as we study the Bible is the study of the Last Days and Bible Prophecy. The complexities of the Word make it so the Scripture can be interpreted a lot of different ways. There are gaps The whole clear picture is not given. We can not get our head around everything. We are not wired in a way that we can. You cant be absolutely sure that what you believe is Truth None of us have the whole story. Why did the Lord have the scriptures written in such a way? Why cant we just open up the Book and read about what exactly is going to happen to us as Christians and to those around us? I think we only have to look at human nature to know why? I believe many of us could be given a Miracle right in front of us and we would still doubt maybe even doubt more then if we heard about it through others. So whether it was written perfectly with every detail does not insure that we would accept and understand it. And we still have the sinful nature to battle with. We do need to study the Bible. We need to study the End Times in order to prepare our souls for the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. We need to be in the Word because the Word is our connection to Christ. God has a very specific purpose He sent his only Son to the world to die for us And all God asks is we give ourselves to Him and Love His Son for the sacrifice he has made and to follow His Sons teachings The Bible holds the answers to all of lifes problems and provides a glimpse of whats to come. I do not believe it was the Lords purpose for us to figure out what the Last Days will be like and how it will all end perfectly. I think he wants us to understand what we can, but most importantly believe in His Son. Because if we believe in His Son, we will have eternal life. And I think its that simple. Dont get angry, dont argue and dont fret over the details. Simply love the Son of God and do the best you can to understand the Word of God. The End Times is coming; there is no stopping it. There are signs all around us that verify that it is near. Learn everything you can about the End Times. Let God lead you down the path to understanding But trust Gods plan is simple. The End is near and what you need to do is clear… God Bless, Joel PetersCopyright 2006 Joel Peters is the proud owner and administrator of The End Times Forum found at http://www.ThEndTimes.com/forum/index.php The End Times Forum is a community for those interested in learning more about the Last Days, Biblical Prophecy, and Things related to Christianity.
